Plant Strong and Courageous Support Group

Our logo has a deep meaning: The hands show our support for one another. We lift each other up at the same time that we lift our hands to the Lord. The hands are filled with whole plant foods that nourish and heal our bodies. The cross represents Christ as the center of our group. He is the foundation and through Him we have the power to heal and to fight disease.

Our Purpose

To lift up, encourage, pray for and support each other with a firm foundation in Christ, and with the mindset of a Whole Food Plant Based lifestyle.

Our Key Verse

2 Corinthians 7:1 – “Let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, out of reverence for God”.

Our Location

The Plant Strong and Courageous Support Group is located in San Antonio, Texas and most of our meetings take place at Bulverde United Methodist Church at 28300 US Hwy 281 North. Zip code 78260. We also have outings that take place in various locations announced monthly on our GroupMe chat calendar.

Our Meetings

We normally meet the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The first meeting of each month is always a Learning Meeting in which we take a certain aspect of Whole Food Plant Based living and dig into it through research, an expert on the subject, hands on experiences such as batch cooking and juicing lessons, etc.

The second meeting of each month is always an outing. It is not always on Fridays, because we want the members that can’t make it to Friday meetings to have a chance to attend. Sometimes these fall on Friday evenings, some are on Saturday mornings and some Saturday Evenings. Different examples of outings that we have done are Thanksgiving and Christmas pot lucks, a Trader Joe’s grocery store tour, A yoga session, etc. We always try to do something fun and interactive for our outings.

Daily Communication

Our group uses the GroupMe app to communicate with each other daily. In this app we share pictures of Whole Food Plant Based meals we have cooked, recipes, prayer and health concerns, links to WFPB information that we have found, etc. Only uplifting and supportive comments are allowed on the group.
